<br />
Here we are with a new year and a new Occasions Catalog along with Sale a Bration. Now that most of the painting is done and the floors are almost finished, I need to go into what was once my craft room which is now a temporary store room while all the work is being done. I managed to climb over a few things and find my boxes of pre ordered goodies, which hadn't even been opened yet, to create my contributions to this hop. Our circular order allows you to come 2 ways to each blog. If you started at the beginning you are coming from Priscilla's blog. Once again she has added to my CASE list. If you came from the other direction, you arrived from Jean's blog. It is so nice to have her back in the "loop" again. I love her creativity.<br />
<br />
My first project uses the first item I ordered during pre order time. It is the beautiful Mediterranean Moments set. Both of my projects use the Watercolor Pencils for coloring. I have been hoping for a long time that they would bring them back. I kept the old ones so I have a few other colors as well.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card base is Pacific Point, layered with Melon Mambo and Hello Honey. I used Timeless Textures and Hello Honey ink on the Hello Honey layer. Linen thread added the embellishment for this card. Italy is definitely on my bucket list.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next project is my favorite from the Sale a Brations catalog. Hey, Chick. Such a cute set. This made a perfect birthday card for my sister though it will be a little late.</div>

The base card is made with Whisper White Thick CS. The front layers are Melon Mambo, Festive Birthday DSP and Tempting Turquoise along with a touch of Hello Honey. I used the Layered Circles dies for my die cuts. On the inside I used Tempting Turquoise, more of the Festive Birthday DSP and some Washi Tape from the Affectionately Yours collection. The Large Polka Dot EF added the texture that I wanted. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you enjoyed my cards. It was so nice to be able to open those boxes and play. Now I'm fired up for the next hop in about 2 weeks. </div>

<br />
Welcome to another Watercooler Blog Hop. Can you believe that we are only weeks away from Christmas? This year seems to have flown by for me. As always the hop runs in a big circle. So in this hop if you are coming from the beginning you arrived at my blog from Jean Fitch's blog. Didn't she have some awesome projects?<br />
<br />
My first item is made using the Baker's Box Die. I wanted it to resemble a gingerbread house so chose to use the Kraft CS for the box. I stamped snowflakes using the stamps from the Merriest Wishes and Peaceful Pines. The little houses were cut from the Candy Cane Lane DSP and mounted with Dimensionals. I used torn WW card stock for the snow on the ground. The roof is cut from Candy Cane Lane DSP. I used my 1/2" circle punch to cut the candies on the roof. The box is tied with the Real Red 3/4" stitched edge ribbon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWCjSIp1ZlBqFu2AUJJp6AtsAVwHvisqqTbDZC3yYQvQk1xeNkTHCYsnZ0dCriT5Ej-MsIYfCOqsR_pBUm_L2Mat93WutpHyhwXr_zI5LGBmWwl6jdm2x5nMN7BtO3liT28abnEwV8MNMG/s1600/IMG_2647.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWCjSIp1ZlBqFu2AUJJp6AtsAVwHvisqqTbDZC3yYQvQk1xeNkTHCYsnZ0dCriT5Ej-MsIYfCOqsR_pBUm_L2Mat93WutpHyhwXr_zI5LGBmWwl6jdm2x5nMN7BtO3liT28abnEwV8MNMG/s320/IMG_2647.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next, I made an ornament from the Starlight Thinlits . I wanted something different than the stacked method I have used in the past with snowflakes. There are 4 Gold Glimmer large stars and 4 Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper smaller stars. I creased the gold ones and glued the edges together and then adhered the white ones just on the sides. I left the tails long on the gold cord to give the allusion of rays. I am going to try doing this again using only 3 of each star as this one was very hard to line up. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My last project is a card using WW, Silver Foil paper, and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. I used Seasonal Bells stamp set, Father Christmas (holly branch) and a section of Merry Medley stamp all stamped using Silver embossing powder. All elements were mounted with dimensionals. Silver cord doubled finished off the design.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
It's time again for another Blog Hop. I had fully intended to have everything done last week before my daughter and son in law arrived for a visit this week. Well, that was not to be and though all the thoughts of what to do were racing around in my head, they didn't get done last week... I can't believe I did this in one day, but it will not be a habit.<br />
<br />
As always the hop moves in a circular fashion and if you started from Home, you arrived here from Penny's blog. Penny is so talented. I always love her creations.<br />
<br />
My first card is an attempt at an Aurora Borealis card. I played with the technique a couple of times and came up with this base done on WW Thick CS. The beautiful Starlight Thinlits helped me create the Christmas star from Gold Foil, White Glimmer and Gold Glimmer papers. I added the swoosh of stars behind it by using Gold EP. More stars were created using my retired white gel pen and enhanced with Wink of Stella. I also used gold Wink of Stella on the swoosh. The sentiment is from the Star of Light stamp set.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRXp6_LzHa8spdpB9SPLVJeKoTIuIl75B8a42Ebe2yepwX54qGs-bnttD92OORpEKC4Ix4O7p3-QlE92pQlucOODXHkhGtjxjYbDya4xcnKLXrXsCa2rkMvjv2LpmmZVuUl0fW5kMRzsKl/s1600/IMG_2626.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRXp6_LzHa8spdpB9SPLVJeKoTIuIl75B8a42Ebe2yepwX54qGs-bnttD92OORpEKC4Ix4O7p3-QlE92pQlucOODXHkhGtjxjYbDya4xcnKLXrXsCa2rkMvjv2LpmmZVuUl0fW5kMRzsKl/s320/IMG_2626.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Card #2 uses the Beautiful Branches die set. The tree is cut from Copper Foil as is the top layer of leaves. The under layer of leaves is cut from Gold Foil. I embossed the grass and sentiment with Copper EP. The fold of the card is enhanced with Copper Thread. The base of the card is Basic Black CS.</div>

Project 3 is a little set of cards made from the Merry Mice set. The card base is made from WW thick CS. The next layer uses Real Red CS run through the Cable Knit dynamic EF. After watercoloring the images on White Shimmer paper, I tore around them and mounted them using dimensionals. Then I stamped the envelope with another stamp from the set. I created a box for the cards and envelopes using Real Red CS, Candy Cane Lane DSP and Real Red Stitched Edge Ribbon made into a belly band. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Wowza, where did the summer go. Our family has been so busy that I haven't been able to join a hop for awhile. We made a family trip to Hawaii, I have a new puppy, and my husband is running for NH State Senate and he is also getting ready to retire from the airlines in February. We also finally finished remodeling the kitchen though I have a little painting yet to do. There has literally been no time to play and when the list came up to join, my daughter said I had to do this one since I had all this new stuff from the Holiday Catalog that hadn't even come out of the box yet. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This hop is about some of our favorite things from the Holiday catalog. I personally love everything in it, but must practice some constraint in my purchases. (Sure!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All of our blogs run in a continuous circle. You can start at any point in the lineup and still see the whole hop. In this lineup, I appear at the top of the list, but maybe you started at the bottom and I am the last on your list. Whichever way you start, enjoy the creations we have made from the Holiday Catalog.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My first card is one of my very favorite genres. I love vintage and when I saw Father Christmas, I knew I had to have it. This card is made with Crumb Cake CS as its base. One of the papers from the Candy Lane DSP is the first layer, which I distressed with scissors and ink. Next I stamped the "frame" pieces and fussy cut and inked them to look vintage. Father Christmas was stamped on Shimmery White and colored using marker and blender pen and fussy cut as well. I used Dimensionals to give the card texture.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next card uses a very versatile stamp set, Glamper Greetings. I had a hard time deciding which direction I wanted to go. Whether Christmas, Fall, or a Project Life page. I finally decided on Christmas. I stamped the cute little camper on Whisper White using Versamark and Silver EP. To achieve the Christmas lights I colored some now retired Dazzling Details in the clear with re inker and a toothpick to put it on. My trees are from Peaceful Pines and utilizes the Perfect Pines Thinlits. I used the also now retired white gel pen to add snow to the trees. The stars are stamped in gold and the sentiment with Whisper White Craft Ink. Now being the proud owners of a much larger "camper" I absolutely love the little saying "Home is where you park it" because our camper will now be home for part of the year. </div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Every year I try to do a new nativity scene. This one I put in an 8x8 shadow box frame. The Starlight Thinlits die was used to make the Christmas star. I used the Confetti Stars border punch to get all the smaller stars and adhered them with Fine Tip glue pen. The nativity, town and angel were stamped using Joyful Nativity. I used Versa Mark and Gold EP. Each piece (except the little stars) was adhered using Dimensionals and the new Adhesive Foam Strips to add dimension to the scene.</div>

Today is St Patrick's Day and the first day of our March Madness Blog Hop. For this hop we are doing Fancy Folds, Distinctive Styles. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The hops run in a circle and if you started at the beginning with Jackie, then you have reached the last blog in the hop. If you started with mine then I welcome you to the hop. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You arrived at my blog from Marie's blog. Aren't her projects wonderful? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My first project is a very simple fold. I started with a 5 1/2 x 12 piece of Bermuda Bay CS. I scored it at 4", 8" and 10". The face pieces were cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and 2 x 5 1/2 from WW CS and then torn to leave a border peeking out. I used the In the Meadow stamp set from the occasions catalog to create my scene. I did not put a sentiment on this card, but one could easily be put in the fold behind the deer.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOWz5xILYE4MUzBOujSL2_4985-HrtRNuO5bh-7iOTLYVMF7fqpgX0YvFtu25WDvtt66lv6bSFCZ37zvmSGitf0qNS_GcPb5RJh_8fLJ4GKN7MnFq-GG6NJhpTpCEFLFKvh1-4AMM2SqY4/s1600/IMG_2150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOWz5xILYE4MUzBOujSL2_4985-HrtRNuO5bh-7iOTLYVMF7fqpgX0YvFtu25WDvtt66lv6bSFCZ37zvmSGitf0qNS_GcPb5RJh_8fLJ4GKN7MnFq-GG6NJhpTpCEFLFKvh1-4AMM2SqY4/s400/IMG_2150.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next project is a perfect card for a guy. This card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I used Going Places DSP. The sheets I used were the same design but different colors. The top piece I cut from one side to the middle and folded the pieces back to expose the design on the back which happened to be compasses. Then I took a piece of the same CS as the base of Sahara Sand, ran it through the World Traveler EF and used black ink to emphasize the embossing. I adhered this to the middle of the front. I used the banner from Number of Years framelits and gold embossed Happy Birthday on it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoQYypZhot5ImGbrm-9jAxbCOBxNd_EF4KesoegPynPY5o_vkcM4imKRAzvrgQ_I1khW7f6E-OkK0I14DuuNFUu3wQmYptxbeII2WkScybgjldDnyr4AEinbVkTPtppbytStJ04MUwlCCb/s1600/IMG_2151.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoQYypZhot5ImGbrm-9jAxbCOBxNd_EF4KesoegPynPY5o_vkcM4imKRAzvrgQ_I1khW7f6E-OkK0I14DuuNFUu3wQmYptxbeII2WkScybgjldDnyr4AEinbVkTPtppbytStJ04MUwlCCb/s400/IMG_2151.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next is my gender neutral, age neutral Birthday card. This gate fold card was cut from Basic Black CS and scored at 2 3/4 and 8 1/4. Then I angle cut the gate. I love the It's My Party Paper Stack in the Occasions Catalog. Once again I used opposite papers of the same design for my layers. All of the balloons were punched using the Balloon Bouquet punch in colors that coordinated with the colors in the paper. Dazzling Details glitter glue accented them. I also used Sprinkles of Life and Tree Builder punch, Cupcake Party and Cupcake Builder punch, and Happy Birthday from Perfect Pairings SAB set. I tied the card closed with Hello Honey bakers twine that is no longer available. It was sold as a kit with buttons. I could have used Pacific Point or Melon Mambo 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon or some of the 1/4" Cotton ribbon in a coordinating color. (I didn't have any so dipped into my stash)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Another month, another blog hop. Though my craft room is a shambles while I reorganize, get rid of things I no longer use and try to sell retired stamp sets, I found 2 patches about 12" square to work on these projects. I have to admit the flowers were formed and assembled while I watched The Bachelor on Monday night. One of my silly vices.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This blog hop concentrates on the Occasions Catalog and Sale a Bration, but can have some of Annual Catalog as well. The majority of items in my projects come from the Occasions Catalog. I hope you enjoy them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You arrived at my blog from Marsha's blog. I so enjoy her projects, she is a very talented lady.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The first project is a card for a special friend. I used the Rose Garden Thinlits Die and one of the sentiments from the Rose Wonder stamp set. After die cutting the large rose in Wisteria Wonder I made the decision that I couldn't waste all those inner pieces so after edging the outline and the inner pieces in Eggplant envy I glued down the rose "frame" and then added the pieces back in. I crimped and pinched those pieces to give them dimension. I then die cut the leaves in Mint Macaron and edged them in Mossy Meadow and glued them down with the Detailed Glue pen. Wink of Stella is my new favorite product and I used it on each of my projects somewhere, though the photographs don't really pick it up. On this card it is used on all the elements. The base card is Smokey Slate and the layer is from the Sale a Bration flyer, Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next project is based on a sketch I found. Since I needed a masculine card I chose the Going Places DSP stack. The base card is black and black was used as the mats for the smaller layers. I used the globe stamp from the Going Global stamp set, though I struggled with using it or the compass in the set. I matted it on a 2 1/2 inch circle. The gold around it is Wink of Stella. I finished off the embellishing with the Gold Thread.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjEs669s8-Lf9ROmZqXJ1Did0BM-iVqolK_uGBCj11FYHh5WPgdvI6rT2NwLhuvIH7wFUAan68U2bHdTTwVX0OSyOWtdPd34Vfhn3XXbYP7-CVkkVBNbRPNspl3phl1pWP0dMgphPsawWR/s1600/IMG_2123.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjEs669s8-Lf9ROmZqXJ1Did0BM-iVqolK_uGBCj11FYHh5WPgdvI6rT2NwLhuvIH7wFUAan68U2bHdTTwVX0OSyOWtdPd34Vfhn3XXbYP7-CVkkVBNbRPNspl3phl1pWP0dMgphPsawWR/s320/IMG_2123.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
Project 3 is something I really love doing. Altered art. This project is an altered cigar box. This particular box is one of the heavy cardboard variety though I have also done wood ones. I covered this box using the Birthday Bouquet DSP both inside and out. Mossy Meadow was used to do all the edging. "The Bachelor" flowers on the top of the box were punched from watercolor paper I had washed using Watermelon Wonder ink. The flower centers were die cut using the Botanical Builder Framelits. The leaves were stamped using the Rose Wonder Stamp set and the Rose Garden Thinlits die. I had color washed water color paper with Mossy Meadow, stamped on them and edged them with the same ink. I love manipulating paper to see how realistic I can make the flowers and leaves look. Pool Party CS was used to punch the Petite Petals for accent. I added Venetian Crochet trim around the side of the box, an Antique Brad, and ribbon and pearls from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit to finish it off. Oh, I almost forgot... "The Bachlor" flowers, leaves, and small blue flowers are all covered with clear Wink of Stella.<br />

<br />
<br />
Welcome to the second Wacky Watercooler Mini Hop for January. We are once again showing off product from the 2016 Occasions catalog, Handmade from the Heart and the Sale a Bration catalog. I love Sale a Bration because I can earn free product with every $50 I spend. Being one of those people who "need" everything my pocket book is groaning, but I have some great free products now in my stash.<br />
<br />
As always the hop moves in a circle so you can go forward or backward. If you are moving forward you arrived at my blog from Buffy's blog. She never ceases to have wonderful projects to share. Sometimes we even get to see that little cutie pie, Amelia. If you are moving backwards you came from Heidi's blog. She is a masterful artist with paper and ink.<br />
<br />
Now for my contributions.<br />
<br />
I figured since the next hop would be after St. Valentine's Day, that I would do a valentine. This will be going to my husband (shhhh, he hasn't seen it yet). Since I am a vintage girl, it is vintage style and all its parts are from the Occasions catalog. The base card is Blushing Bride CS with papers from the Love Blossoms DSP stack and embellishments from the Love Blossoms Embellishment kit. I used the Bloomin' Hearts Thinlit die to cut the heart from Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. My heart appears backwards from the image in the catalog because I had better luck cutting from the backside than front the front. I used the new Big Shot die brush to help remove all the "hanging chads". Wow, no more poking with something sharp. The flowers added to the heart are from the same thinlit package cut from Rose Red CS. The Bloomin' Love stamp set provided the banner and Love You. I hand cut the banner though I could have used the Large Numbers framelit die to cut it. I used a little clear Wink of Stella glitter brush to add some shine to the little flowers.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbx_bfllEGu3c-_RTW09s1pPTKvype2HauUBfWjECvLrD3h3W4_kIs2mJHDGTAFnwRfocoIYLJpl62ek9Mnnr_N5BHIAOC2Qh8WOT9LVWbzYUVEgzuSMGFwbf29Tre6tWrfwbbdNosF6Wb/s1600/IMG_2092.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbx_bfllEGu3c-_RTW09s1pPTKvype2HauUBfWjECvLrD3h3W4_kIs2mJHDGTAFnwRfocoIYLJpl62ek9Mnnr_N5BHIAOC2Qh8WOT9LVWbzYUVEgzuSMGFwbf29Tre6tWrfwbbdNosF6Wb/s400/IMG_2092.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My second card is for my husbands birthday, which also falls this next month. He loves flying and since that has been his career I thought this stamp set, Sky is the Limit was the perfect choice. This is one of the free items available from Sale a Bration, but it is a Limited Time offering and is available only until February 15. The card base is Crumb Cake and the papers are from the Sale a Bration Perfectly Artistic DSP (also Limited Time). I know it is hard to see because of the distressing and sponging that I did. I stamped the plane and smoke trail using Early Espresso ink and hand cut them. A little Wink of Stella added the shine to the prop movement and the smoke trail as well as brushing some on the sky. The Lots of Labels Framelits provided the label to stamp the sentiments and I added Antique Brads and Linen Thread to complete the look.</div>

<br />
Welcome to the November "It's all about Christmas (or Hanukkah) Blog Hop. Doing the projects for this hop just reminded me how close to Christmas it is. ARRGGHHHH! I am never ready early. I am one of those late shoppers (thank heavens for the internet and online shopping). At least I have my Christmas cards finished and now it's up to my DH to write the Christmas letter. Now that I've imparted all that information.... As always this hop moves in a circle. You can view the whole hop from the end, beginning or middle just by clicking on Next or Previous.<br />
<br />
You arrived at my blog from Marsha's blog. She always has such beautiful creations.<br />
<br />
My first card is actually my Christmas card for this year. I accompanied my husband on a hunting trip to Virginia and stayed at the house and created my cards. The first time I've had them done this far ahead.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card stock I used for this card is Blackberry Bliss. I love non traditional colors for Christmas and this is one of my favorites. I also used Gold Glimmer paper, the music sheet from Home for Christmas DSP, 1/8"gold ribbon, Gold EP and the background stars are from Too You and Yours stamp set and the main image is from All Ye Faithful stamp set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next card is an easy teachable card.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Starting with a Thick WW card base I created a mask from copy paper using the Delicate Ornament Die. I laid it on the card base and using a sponge dauber and Soft Sky and Night of Navy ink filled in the image. Then I took another layer of WW CS (4 x 5 1/4) and cut the open die from the layer. The mask I had created also had the corners punched with the new Curvy Corner Trio punch. I sponged around the mask using the same Soft Sky and Night of Navy ink. Then I stamped some snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes using both Night of Navy and Encore Silver. The top sponged layer was laid on the base card with the ornament showing through. Using the snowflake side of a sheet of DSP from the Season of Cheer collection I cut the detailed Delicate Ornament and overstamped it with some silver snowflakes from Flurry of Wishes. I used the fine tip glue pen to adhere it to the card and added the top cut from Silver Foil paper and added a Silver Cord bow.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next project will take some space here as it needs multiple photos. Years a go I took a class on making Star Books. The instructions for making such a book can be found in a back issue of a magazine that is no longer in publication. I searched the internet for a copy as I had lost mine and was able to procure one. The magazine was called Expressions and this particular issue was Mar/Apr 2002. Needless to say this book was created using many stamp sets, some current, some retired. I will list them at the end of the photos of this book.</div>

The covers were made with board from the backing of our specialty designer paper which I covered with velvet paper. The CS used was Basic Black, Hello Honey, and Crumb Cake. Every other page was done with Gold Glimmer and Black Glimmer paper. I used the Winter Wonderland DSP collection and Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum stack. I absolutely love this collection. The folios were hand stitched together using a coptic stitch method to bind them together. Tools I used were Stars Framelit, Confetti Stars Border, Curvy Corner Trio punch. Embellishments included Rhinestones Basics, retired Black Grosgrain ribbon, 1/8" gold ribbon, and Black and Gold EP.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The stamp sets I used are Wonderful Blessings (r), The Newborn King (r), The Sounding Joy (r), Snowflake Soiree (r), Comfort and Joy (r), Nature's Peace (r), Bright and Beautiful (r), All Ye Faithful, Reason for the Season, and Wonderland.</div>

<br />
September...where did the last four weeks go. It has been one fast moving month. It seems the older I get the faster they go.<br />
<br />
Here we are with a Mix-Up hop. As always our hop is done in a circle meaning you can go backwards and forwards, start in the middle, end or beginning. Whichever way you choose you will find some awesome projects from very talented people. I love hopping with them.<br />
<br />
You arrived here from Miss Jaylin's blog if you started from the beginning. She has learned well from a great teacher. If you are moving backwards you came from Deb's blog, she is one of those artists that I can't wait to see what she has in store this time.<br />
<br />
I decided to go very simple with my cards this time, so with the exception of the last one, these take no time to put together. Here is #1.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-21Nmo_iFipq8TUfPSX76qdha9eVy1gkQ-3UH2ee1gECK6u9msPvw1SsVxQr5VjynR6ijYmIY4Sg3B_7fJ5YIWbHGFMR31JsmgaDdu4NkzyYScqFijvta3mGI4oJ36P7ZjrtJAePpkwsT/s1600/IMG_1930.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-21Nmo_iFipq8TUfPSX76qdha9eVy1gkQ-3UH2ee1gECK6u9msPvw1SsVxQr5VjynR6ijYmIY4Sg3B_7fJ5YIWbHGFMR31JsmgaDdu4NkzyYScqFijvta3mGI4oJ36P7ZjrtJAePpkwsT/s320/IMG_1930.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The base card is Smokey Slate with a layer of Basic Black. The base card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The top layer is Crumb Cake stamped with stamps from Awesomely Artistic, Wild About Flowers, Butterfly Basics and Sheltering Tree using Basic Black and Basic Gray ink. The dragonfly was stamped with Night of Navy. I then embossed it with the new Brick Wall EF. I aged the wall using Smokey Slate ink and a sponge dauber. The wings of the dragonfly were accented with Dazzling Diamonds glitter glue. With Smokey Slate CS and the Banner punch I fashioned the "thinking of you" banner. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Card # 2 is super simple. I love birch trees and fall leaves so this put the 2 together. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqXQ4p0FueeuGIKFSi5b1vJLHmdzsS9ZLQtD2T2miirXedVfQ8UcfmPY1YpCCcPBairVkB979N1axtxlrxAsY48D7YAsHSSEWdGyFmrvUpDzUwKIw2AdMA638DIKyIka2Adfzy3JlDNwUt/s1600/IMG_1932.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqXQ4p0FueeuGIKFSi5b1vJLHmdzsS9ZLQtD2T2miirXedVfQ8UcfmPY1YpCCcPBairVkB979N1axtxlrxAsY48D7YAsHSSEWdGyFmrvUpDzUwKIw2AdMA638DIKyIka2Adfzy3JlDNwUt/s320/IMG_1932.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We are very lucky to have both the white paper birches and golden birches on our property. I decided to make this card the white variety. Using the new thick Whisper White CS this card base is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The top layer is Soft Suede CS embossed with the Woodland EF. I used White Craft ink to bring out those beautiful birches. I found the closest leaf possible to a birch leaf in our Vintage Leaves stamp set, and cut out the single leaf with the matching dies, Leaflets Framelits. After crinkling and pinching it into the shape I wanted it, I added a few drops of Crystal Effects. I have not decided on a sentiment for it, but maybe it doesn't need one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My last card is one that is similar to one I created a couple years ago after seeing leaves done by Rae Deen Bittner. (I hope I spelled that right). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyi5UtWlPOsxaFI8dqDBJ8LmoHGhVhvgDkeAFV5jMHy9tD1wby7ROa0H7w6_EbHrKhY1GKyfDp1Nq9oBqplSsn9GEc_PCWtMunErhnl0WOBM6YSHx7mrT-e6n6Jnu5yYE1VcejiYzhRJ6Z/s1600/IMG_1918.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyi5UtWlPOsxaFI8dqDBJ8LmoHGhVhvgDkeAFV5jMHy9tD1wby7ROa0H7w6_EbHrKhY1GKyfDp1Nq9oBqplSsn9GEc_PCWtMunErhnl0WOBM6YSHx7mrT-e6n6Jnu5yYE1VcejiYzhRJ6Z/s320/IMG_1918.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With a card base of Delightful Dijon cut lengthwise at 5 1/2" to create an easel. I layered it with Real Red, Wild Wasabi and the "wood" layer uses the Woodgrain EF on Crumb Cake with Chocolate Chip ink rubbed over the raised areas. The leaves were stamped using Vintage Leaves with Archival Black ink on watercolor paper. Using my blender pen and various fall maple leaf colors, I created these fall leaves. The were cut using the Leaflets Framelits and crinkled and pinched into shape. Tags and Labels Framelits had the right size tag for the sentiment from Endless Thanks which I tied to the stem of the leaf with Linen Thread. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That concludes my creations for this hop. Now you are off to the super talented Deb's blog. Enjoy!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Welcome everyone to the Wacky Watercooler August Blog Hop. Can you believe it is August already? This summer just flew by. For some it has been cooler than normal, or rainier than normal, and for others it has been hotter with devastating fires. As a "left coast" native, I am saddened by the fires and pray for those who have lost their lives and homes there.<br />
<br />
As always our hop runs in a circle. Hmmm, that could be construed as craziness, but this circle is not so crazy because you can go back and forth easily to see the wonderful creations of our very talented contributors.<br />
<br />
Without further ado, let's begin our hop and as the lead off, here are my creations. Our task this time was to make 2 projects using the Sprinkles of Life Stamp set and the matching Tree Builder punch plus a case from the Annual Catalog. Sprinkles of Life is our Ronald McDonald House stamp for this year. With the sale of each of these sets, $3 is donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities. Not only is it a very cute set, but it is a way to share with others.<br />
<br />
I have seen so many different ice cream cones, cupcakes, little trees, etc for this stamp that I wanted to do something entirely different. Here it is....<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlR1js1DrnuCxoPHU96G341fOJxaGYMNH6SPyTN9mbqyFesNp1bPmmovuWgppIIWcSkmjDljePI2W1ddFpUPfQpvC360gXuysHLGSPVT2ZRT1IlZyxrhlo8TSwyUM9ezZwe4uXQ042ZLKZ/s1600/IMG_1883.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlR1js1DrnuCxoPHU96G341fOJxaGYMNH6SPyTN9mbqyFesNp1bPmmovuWgppIIWcSkmjDljePI2W1ddFpUPfQpvC360gXuysHLGSPVT2ZRT1IlZyxrhlo8TSwyUM9ezZwe4uXQ042ZLKZ/s320/IMG_1883.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So where is the stamp set or punch you might ask. The flowers on this card are made with the cloud part of the Tree Builder punch. I love big floppy flowers so here are floppy flowers. The card base is made from our awesome new Thick WW CS. The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I then layered a piece of Basic Black followed by some retired vellum from a paper stack. (I just realized that the flowers and vellum layer are retired DSP. Guess I'd better move them to the retired pile so I don't use them again. Please forgive me for the oversight.) Each of the flowers is centered with Tip Top Taupe Flower Blossoms. Tip Top Taupe is one of our 2015 - 2017 In Colors. I stamped Happy Birthday on Basic Black and white embossed it and punched it out using the Elegant Butterfly punch. I love the look of the "messy" silver thread so added that behind the butterfly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvdFcKLWWA-7UcmKAiZgFOBl0C14Phi1DzQq1tUvGsHcj63PFAfg0zgLXbXdNiT6nX4wOsSSPl75ltWvsgAYJ6A_hapZpu5-81tJJ9ggmY1YiKrDDPA9EXIQipdw-T0EqH3pAKnGNgBH3j/s1600/IMG_1889.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvdFcKLWWA-7UcmKAiZgFOBl0C14Phi1DzQq1tUvGsHcj63PFAfg0zgLXbXdNiT6nX4wOsSSPl75ltWvsgAYJ6A_hapZpu5-81tJJ9ggmY1YiKrDDPA9EXIQipdw-T0EqH3pAKnGNgBH3j/s320/IMG_1889.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is my second Sprinkles of Life card. Using Watermelon Wonder as my base I layered it with paper from the Cherry on Top DSP stack. I love these smaller stacks as I don't feel so guilty cutting up a whole sheet of paper. Next using the Ovals thinlit set I cut the large scalloped oval from Bermuda Bay CS and then embossed it with the Decorative Dots EF. The next size oval was used to cut another layer from the Cherry on Top DSP. My CHOCOLATE ice cream cone uses So Saffron CS for the cone and Whisper White for the ice cream. I watercolored the ice cream with Early Espresso and after it was dry stamped the sprinkles with Versa Mark and Early Espresso and then embossed with Clear EP to show off those chocolate sprinkles. I have to say that if you could put hot fudge on a cone it would be there. I used the Banner Triple punch for the tail of my "revised" sentiment and edged with Soft Suede ink. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My last card is a CASE from the Annual Catalog</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_VZ9dpnWmbY6AQhDRdNXgJG8mhNNB0iPHNTzn_tZjTgZqGD7ZAJlvt-K-YC5ub-WiuaCFpnRvu3JKw-1b-bw5lyv1cOmcAatO36Ifpj2KtP2MpzjztirqiYMG8_pIxVTTAyGQRTpEvB_u/s1600/IMG_1891.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_VZ9dpnWmbY6AQhDRdNXgJG8mhNNB0iPHNTzn_tZjTgZqGD7ZAJlvt-K-YC5ub-WiuaCFpnRvu3JKw-1b-bw5lyv1cOmcAatO36Ifpj2KtP2MpzjztirqiYMG8_pIxVTTAyGQRTpEvB_u/s320/IMG_1891.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPqTqZnqmtk97eSA-xWfGjZRUP65jsTrSvitN9P_AdW-W6CwjcFzNq1kiZBPTz6ozoYs4QNwqtkvcXGIcmoNXk2Sq8jOjXb2ngs4wvWKdJUs6FtNHAnbNo__16XWLHb1TqeItiHOMkVKyF/s1600/IMG_1884.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPqTqZnqmtk97eSA-xWfGjZRUP65jsTrSvitN9P_AdW-W6CwjcFzNq1kiZBPTz6ozoYs4QNwqtkvcXGIcmoNXk2Sq8jOjXb2ngs4wvWKdJUs6FtNHAnbNo__16XWLHb1TqeItiHOMkVKyF/s320/IMG_1884.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cased this card as exact as I could, because I love this card. Again I used a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 base. I am loving that I can use Whisper White as a card now with the new thick one. The heart in the background is fashioned using the 1 1/4" White Jute ribbon. It leaves a gap which is covered with the layers of Sahara Sand Lace trim and the Venetian Crochet trim and reversed Chevron Ribbon stamped with StazOn. One of the Very Vintage Designer buttons was added after tying linen thread through the holes. The flower stamps are from Flower Shop stamped in Sahara Sand and Rose Red ink. The "dotty" stamp from Gorgeous Grunge was used to create the background using the same ink. Since I did not have the new Classy Designer buttons I used a small retired button from my stash for the center of the flower. I do not own Endless Thanks, but it is now on my list to order for the friend stamp seen on the original on page 126 of the AC so I substituted from another set, Six Sided Sampler to achieve the effect.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you have enjoyed my projects, despite the retirement boo boo. I had fun creating them. Now you are off to see Marie's wonderful creations.</div>

<br />
It is that time again. Celebrating the new 2015-2016 Annual Catalog makes this a very happy blog hop for me. I got to get new stuff! I am last on the list this time, but since we move in a circle you can either go back to Buffy's blog by way of the Previous button or go back to the beginning to Marie's blog by clicking the Next button. This is such a great hop you might want to go in circles for awhile.<br />
<br />
I love butterflies (and dragonflies) so my first card is a butterfly card. I used the new heavier weight Whisper White CS as my card base and it worked beautifully as a base.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi74yq1ZNlnBw9fNnzj6LUUY6ELmWu2rLAizi-f8pLv44bFX5fb-k0p-m1c_NTUu8h7vfE3tv4c5yQ2krf8v-4C2qstwbV8D-8Vy99nbHRSubyCyzSn6BcgBPlOzxCsYSRaBGt6uSKoQYqt/s1600/IMG_1633.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi74yq1ZNlnBw9fNnzj6LUUY6ELmWu2rLAizi-f8pLv44bFX5fb-k0p-m1c_NTUu8h7vfE3tv4c5yQ2krf8v-4C2qstwbV8D-8Vy99nbHRSubyCyzSn6BcgBPlOzxCsYSRaBGt6uSKoQYqt/s320/IMG_1633.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On my new heavier WW base I added a layer using one of the designs found in new Everyday Chic DSP. Then using a piece of regular WW CS I die cut the large butterfly from the new Bold Butterfly Framelits from the center and tucked the white butterfly away for future use so I could use the negative as a layer. The new Fluttering EF then came into play as I embossed the layer with it. I then cut the small butterfly from a scrap of the same Everyday Chic DSP but turned him over to layer him in the opening. The antennae and sentiment came from Floral Wings hostess set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am always on the search for new ideas and techniques. So my next card is something I have wanted to try for a long time. I had heard somewhere that you could make paper look like leather so one of my searches I came across some videos by a lady in the UK. Her name is Sheena Douglass and of course she has her own line of embossing folders and stencils, but the technique is what caught my eye. Then when our new embossing folder Boho Chic came out, well, the rest is history. I will be making more of this history again because I love the technique. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk4FAeyD7LhB3nxcXh-rs3xqv-WCh8Q32ukTDKjbKDvl6RmC7OTem4R-049K90Cqn0Lgi2QogPXkaw73G_gg-3zgUBfanwrb1HVsZkG8-e5P79LvbTEZzEQWBzeQbdvYVqDdFoE34FID8_/s1600/IMG_1631.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk4FAeyD7LhB3nxcXh-rs3xqv-WCh8Q32ukTDKjbKDvl6RmC7OTem4R-049K90Cqn0Lgi2QogPXkaw73G_gg-3zgUBfanwrb1HVsZkG8-e5P79LvbTEZzEQWBzeQbdvYVqDdFoE34FID8_/s320/IMG_1631.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the technique on Kraft CS with Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip and Crushed Curry inks. The technique involves carefully massaging glycerine and water into the paper until you have the desired look. You have to be careful as Sheena says because you do not want to cause the paper to pill or get rough. Then you crumple it up while it is still wet and carefully unfold it and set it aside to dry. After it was dry a piece of Typeset Specialty DSP was adhered to the inside. I embossed it with the folder and then rubbed ink over the wrinkles and the embossing. I wanted the card to look like a small book so I cut 2 pieces of Very Vanilla CS and folded them in half. Then with carefully chosen stamps from The Open Sea, Feel Goods, Guy Greetings, Gorgeous Grunge and Awesomely Artistic, the "pages" were decorated and tied into the book using Linen Thread. The sentiment on the outside came from the Feel Goods stamp set and cut from the new Lots of Labels Framelits. Here are some photos of the inside.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The minute I saw the Timeless Elegance DSP, I knew this would be my very favorite. There is so much you can do with every sheet in that package. I chose my favorite sheets for my next project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For this project I colored some of the flowers off of one sheet of the paper using re inkers and my blender pen. I fussy cut the flowers. Then using the other sheet I cut my "mat", placed the photo and then added the flowers as accents. The frame was already distressed when I bought it. The photo was taken 34 years ago on the 27th of this month. We have both aged a bit and there's a little less hair on that Marine Officer's head, but we won't tell him that. My hair is now silver, gray and white and I love it. Love that man more today than then.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
"Retirement Blues" is the theme of this month's blog hop. Though I am happy about the new Stampin'Up! Annual Catalog, soon to be released, I am sad and a little blue about some things retiring. Being a flower and butterfly person, you will see a theme to my "blue" creations. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You arrived here from Kath's blog. She is such an inspiration, her creations are always awesome.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My first card features a retiring In Color, Coastal Cabana, and a background stamp, Pleasant Poppies. I also used the retiring Labels Collection framelit. Coastal Cabana was one of those colors that you could call green with blue undertones or blue with green undertones. For the purpose of my "blue" creations, I am calling it blue.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm2zr-gZteFHkRltgoSa7C-aNwsuJFaHVNrxU4MUShyphenhyphenUup-XMkb_W-6uOJiIqLJjiO4kuA1SqNos0pJNEweE1NByq_7ZW4Y5LB-IZsYQBtGIK9qPU0UZqBltppe6Spts7MTIui1VpVxoOi/s1600/IMG_1594.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm2zr-gZteFHkRltgoSa7C-aNwsuJFaHVNrxU4MUShyphenhyphenUup-XMkb_W-6uOJiIqLJjiO4kuA1SqNos0pJNEweE1NByq_7ZW4Y5LB-IZsYQBtGIK9qPU0UZqBltppe6Spts7MTIui1VpVxoOi/s320/IMG_1594.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stamped the poppies in Versa Mark and embossed with the Pool Party EP (also retiring). With a blender pen and Coastal Cabana ink, I watercolored the flowers. After cutting my top layer and cutting the opening with the Labels framelit, I ran the piece through the Woodgrain EF and then rubbed Coastal Cabana ink on the raised portion. It was then attached to the watercolored piece and I wrapped the end with Bakers Twine and adhered all to the card base, also in Coastal Cabana. Then I added a pearl for accent. Sad to see this color go.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next card is done using the retiring Beautiful Wings Embosslit which I am VERY sad to see go. I also used the retiring Perfect Dots EF and the retiring Scallop Edge border punch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2qzDLX1QEvi9np48LS2Yfqr4Jy8iiFQuEWlkHOdhmf6bCcZGaFjBzc2mtwcXtYjf1NA6i7iwWX-TXkhIcziZLkRyN8eajPm2kTtAfJ1lBknvFx12rj9hdQFW-n_tWCRlE2URjghsyfnYA/s1600/IMG_1595.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2qzDLX1QEvi9np48LS2Yfqr4Jy8iiFQuEWlkHOdhmf6bCcZGaFjBzc2mtwcXtYjf1NA6i7iwWX-TXkhIcziZLkRyN8eajPm2kTtAfJ1lBknvFx12rj9hdQFW-n_tWCRlE2URjghsyfnYA/s320/IMG_1595.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After cutting all my butterflies from Pacific Point CS and Watercolor paper, I used Pacific Point ink and a blender pen to color the butterflies. The Soft Sky CS layer was run through the Perfect Dots EF and the edge trimmed with the Scallop Edge punch. The sentiment was stamped from the Petite Pairs stamp set and punched using the retiring Curly Label punch. The butterflies have bodies created using the smallest Rhinestone Basics. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Though my last project is not all blue, I used the Soft Sky side of the beautiful Painted Blooms DSP with all the beautiful flowers. I was so sad that this DSP and it's matching Painted Petals Stamp set and the other gorgeous things that went with it did not carry over. Needless to say, I have a stash of this paper. I am anxiously waiting to see the English Garden DSP in person from the new catalog. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtArckd69YHVt6EopgH8UD9knwjRNk7ZcRvf-04wsVzAU7l6U2Mhl_qaXZ2fYZKkxwbJVMg0UAowRHuAd4EQMuki5OEcp1gc5P-TCyZ617OZhBZHzTXBARvfcjg4flWtMbMH-GypkX0YX7/s1600/IMG_1591.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtArckd69YHVt6EopgH8UD9knwjRNk7ZcRvf-04wsVzAU7l6U2Mhl_qaXZ2fYZKkxwbJVMg0UAowRHuAd4EQMuki5OEcp1gc5P-TCyZ617OZhBZHzTXBARvfcjg4flWtMbMH-GypkX0YX7/s320/IMG_1591.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Kseho5zUrYCfB25J0w2knQI8_tJ5UiU-CYZ-svgexkOaauc8-GbpEUjdFMRxvQJQYE0rl2BEZQgzNeLMWqhUpEgHYqWoGGNLtJ-0PIqpUMJsp2hNTry3WdpInjzUQ7YufAhkiyoWi0yB/s1600/IMG_1593.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Kseho5zUrYCfB25J0w2knQI8_tJ5UiU-CYZ-svgexkOaauc8-GbpEUjdFMRxvQJQYE0rl2BEZQgzNeLMWqhUpEgHYqWoGGNLtJ-0PIqpUMJsp2hNTry3WdpInjzUQ7YufAhkiyoWi0yB/s320/IMG_1593.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I decided to decorate both front and back of this gift bag. Almost everything on this bag is retiring or not being carried over (retiring) except the ink. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The bag was created using 2 sheets of DSP. The flowers and leaves were cut using the Flower Frenzy Bigz L die. The center pearls came from the beautiful Artisan Embellishment Kit that I wish I had ordered more of and stashed away. The lace and ribbon edging were also from this kit. I made the handles using last years retired Rose Red seam binding by braiding it. The flowers and leaves were edged using Blackberry Bliss, Rose Red, Pacific Point and Mossy Meadow inks.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There were so many other retiring items I had ideas for but my contributions would have taken up several pages. Though sad and blue to see favorites retire, I am excited about new things coming out. That means I won't be blue very long.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Your next stop is to the wonderfully creative and talented Buffy's Blog. I wonder if Amelia has learned to stamp yet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Like all of our hops you can go either to the previous blog or the next blog as this hop runs in a circle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Enjoy and try not to be too blue.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
April Fool's has come and gone here in New Hampshire and Spring is here, actually it's mud season. The sun is out, the birds are singing, and the grass is now out in the open and the mud will hopefully dry up soon. The snow has disappeared and there are only a few small piles left from the plow.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Along with Spring and the flow of the sap in the maple trees there is also a fresh flow of creative juices for me. Funny what the sun can do for us. I am in creative mode and was excited to join this hop. I love posting alongside so many talented ladies and am always excited to see what everyone comes up with. The hop is done in a circle if you will so you can go backward or forward. So you if you are moving forward you have arrived here from Kath R's blog </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
She is so creative. I love her work.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Before I show you my work, I received a very special card from my 5 year old grandson as a welcome home after a trip I made recently. He stayed up past his bedtime the evening I arrived to present it to me. His Mama told me it was totally his idea and he even tore some of the flower shapes himself. The rest of the things he found in my stash and added to his card. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card was created using Naturals White as my base and the layer is Soft Sky. I added the Sweet Dreams Designer Washi Tape for interest. The flower was punched using the Fun Flower punch and Typeset DSP which I colored with Hello Honey ink. An Antique brad supplied the flower center. The sentiment comes from the Big News stamp set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next card is totally Spring.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The base is Pink Pirouette layered with scraps from Painted Blooms DSP. I added Venetian Crochet trim as accent to the layers. The flowers are from the Petal Potpourri stamp set with matching Flower Medallion punch. I watercolored the flowers on watercolor paper using Pink Pirouette and Rose Red markers. A combination of Crushed Curry and Hello Honey was used in the centers. The flowers were added using dimensionals. The sentiment is from Easter Blossoms stamp set.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the tutorial from Linda Parker to make this box using the Envelope Punch Board. I used the Birthday Bash Specialty DSP for the lid and the bottom is made from Bermuda Bay CS. The Balloon framelits and Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay CS were used to create the balloons. I applied a little Crystal Effects to the balloons to give them some shine. Using Thick Baker's Twine in Crisp Cantaloupe, Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana I added their strings. The bow is created using the Bow Builder punch and more DSP from the Birthday Bash collection. The "happy" word came from using the Hello You thinlits and Night of Navy CS. Another piece of Birthday Bash DSP cut just so created the place for the sentiment from Celebrate today.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That's not all... it is not what it seems...this little gift box is a gift in itself.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When you open the box, it is a scrapbook for the birthday celebration. The accordion pages are decorated with more paper from the Birthday Bash DSP. There are places for photos, tags in 2 pockets (you can see peeking out) and some small areas for journaling. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Time for another blog hop. This time as you can see has March Madness as the title. Our projects this month are to include a "fancy fold" card. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As always the hop is done in a circle and you can move back and forth in any direction. You arrived at my blog after viewing Marie's gorgeous creations or if you are working backwards, from Deb's blog.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I guess you could say I went a little "mad" with my projects because all 3 of mine are "fancy folds". I am a huge fan of Pinterest and I have seen many folded styles that I have wanted to do. So I picked 3. Each one has been done by many card makers and these are my take on them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The first fold I chose is actually fairly simple. I have always wanted to do a screen fold and here is my creation. It didn't seem to matter which way I tried to photograph it, it appears to be coming apart, but it isn't. It actually stands up nice and straight without looking "gappy".</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The base of this card started with a 12x12 sheet of Early Espresso cut in half and scored at 3", 6", and 9". the top was achieved with the Chevron border punch and the legs on the screen were done with the Decorative Label punch. I ran the whole screen through the Woodgrain EF after then used Encore Metallic ink rubbed over the dimension created by the EF. The mat card stock under the images is Coastal Cabana. Each image from Moon Lake and Wetlands Stamp sets were embossed with Basic Black EP on watercolor paper and then watercolored using Stampin' Write Markers and aqua painters. The edges of the layers were distressed and edged with ink. </div>

Closed this card measures 4 x 6. The card base is Blushing Bride and I used Gold Soiree DSP to layer the card. This card uses only one stamp and it comes from Painted Petals stamp set. Embellishments for the card include the roses, buttons and laser cut from the Artisan Embellishment kit. In addition, I used the Sahara Sand lace and Wild Wasabi CS punched with the Decorative Label punch which I ran through the Spring Flowers EF and edged with Wild Wasabi ink. </div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Spring... what a wonderful word and season. Sub zero temperatures are not my cup of tea, especially when they are weeks long. So with the new Occasions Catalog and Sale a Bration in full swing, I can pretend there is no snow outside and that it isn't cold out there. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have some favorites in both of those catalogs, well, let's just say a lot of favorites. I am also doing 2 of them along with another card for a class tonight. Talk about putting pressure on myself. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You have arrived here from Jackie's blog. Aren't her projects amazing? As always the hop moves in a circle and you can move backwards or forwards. If at anytime you want to start from the beginning you can do so by clicking the Home button.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are my contributions to the Spring Fever Hop.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-_6tQO1WDq2jAXjZp1XOHcoja-JLJM2WLoaJCnzi2M77SOzLyI0cBNEcbwXW_oh1rsMRC7Cy8NH8ThwMWrp5Cvs1J9llqD1EL4XNVf_G-EMKC0HDIv1OqSTwyO1OsULuYGR8AvztZ1FwN/s1600/IMG_1807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-_6tQO1WDq2jAXjZp1XOHcoja-JLJM2WLoaJCnzi2M77SOzLyI0cBNEcbwXW_oh1rsMRC7Cy8NH8ThwMWrp5Cvs1J9llqD1EL4XNVf_G-EMKC0HDIv1OqSTwyO1OsULuYGR8AvztZ1FwN/s1600/IMG_1807.JPG" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I absolutely love this stamp set. It is so versatile. This card uses Soft Sky for its base. The next layer is Pear Pizzazz run through (just realized) a retired embossing folder with clouds. I then stamped the boat image from Moon Lake on Whisper White CS and colored it with Blendabilities and added some sponging for the sky. I added the Signo Gel pen to accent the water. The saying from this stamp set is so great. What do you see when you look at this image?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next I used my very favorite paper from the Occasions Catalog, Painted Blooms DSP. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die I created an envelope for the tag. The flowers were all cut from Coffee filter paper that I dyed with homemade alcohol spray ink. The yellow centers were cut from Crushed Curry CS and along with the flowers and leaves used the Bouquet Bigz L die. Each flower has a Pearl Basic Jewel in the center. I cut the tag top using the Large Scallop Edgelit and finished it off with Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon. I hand cut the banner stamped with the Happy Birthday from Butterfly Basics stamp set. Once the tag is inserted into the bag it all still fits in a regular envelope.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next card is a version of a card that Debra did last February. For this hop we all were drawn a name and my draw was Deb's. Now I must say, Debra is one of those hard acts to follow. I loved this card of hers a year ago, still love it. This is Deb's card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I purposely left off a sentiment so it could be used for a variety of occasions. I started with a Smokey Slate base. The first layer is Irresistably Yours DSP which I colored with Smokey Slate ink. I then wrapped a piece of Sahara Sand Lace around that. Using the Labels Collection Framelit, I layered Perfect Plum using dimensionals. the top layer is Blushing Bride. The top layer is stamped with Sheltering Tree in Smokey Slate. All edging was done in Smokey Slate. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That does it for my part in this hop. Next you will go to Penny's blog. Penny is one of our newer members, but she is so very talented. I admire her work. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here we are again, doing one of my favorite things...hopping. Our theme is "our favorite..."</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a really hard time picking favorites, especially from Sale a Bration and the new Occasions Catalog. There are just so many wonderful things in the new Occasions Catalog that my wallet will be flat once again despite my resolution to not buy so much this New Year. By the way, Happy New Year to everyone. Last year sure slipped by fast. Maybe I can get more crafting done this year which I thought was going to happen last year.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You arrived here from Terri's blog. I love Terri's creativity. She always has some super great ideas.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To start off my projects, I must preface with the fact that I love vintage. So two of my projects are vintage. This first one uses my very favorite stamp set from the Sale a Bration catalog. These items can be earned with qualifying purchase from now until March 31 .</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The stamp set I used is called Lotus Blossom and is a 3 step stamp. The 3 steps form the layers for the flower. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkh_LNV3YaI3fSeFvMEUbU6hIpB4l3FBOe96qZESXrK8-nXM0dJD33BHLP-nRzJ5jsXw_Psbsdfiui_BeEe2SJM-uzRLaJ2XORConW46QisjQE2RO6uVlxkN89p3oWR55ezWaEgnIgcimx/s1600/IMG_1731.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkh_LNV3YaI3fSeFvMEUbU6hIpB4l3FBOe96qZESXrK8-nXM0dJD33BHLP-nRzJ5jsXw_Psbsdfiui_BeEe2SJM-uzRLaJ2XORConW46QisjQE2RO6uVlxkN89p3oWR55ezWaEgnIgcimx/s1600/IMG_1731.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The base is Crumb Cake CS, the first layer is Soft Suede and the print layer is the new Something Borrowed DSP that is originally white on white that I tinted with Garden Green and Soft Suede inks. Naturally being a vintage card all edges have been distressed and inked with Soft Suede. The embellishments are a tinted doily, pink lace and tinted pearls from the Artisan Embellishment kit, along with some Linen thread and an Antique brad. The Artisan Embellishment kit is found in the new Occasions Catalog. I think I need everything out of that catalog.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next up is my Anything Goes which is has items all front he Annual Catalog. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp5dGtL1drFPnVyyQOr3-mngNMUhdJFXJcCe2yOmTcpE0_6XR7paaUkCmu2xXlAB4AC_VD9fQ6tWaA1wYV1qULDhf0Ahms-pyeZHbM5563n90qwSU3gNcDFSxU1Ib6w9d8RFnGvbong2a0/s1600/IMG_1740.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp5dGtL1drFPnVyyQOr3-mngNMUhdJFXJcCe2yOmTcpE0_6XR7paaUkCmu2xXlAB4AC_VD9fQ6tWaA1wYV1qULDhf0Ahms-pyeZHbM5563n90qwSU3gNcDFSxU1Ib6w9d8RFnGvbong2a0/s1600/IMG_1740.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Again I chose to go vintage. This card is a regular A2 card made with Ivory Naturals CS as the base. I used Typeset DSP and a sheet from the All Abloom paper stack for my other 2 layers. All layers and the card base are distressed and inked with Soft Suede. The stamp set I chose is Sweetbriar Rose. The images were stamped on Very Vanilla CS and colored with Blendabilities. I stamped and colored 2 sets so I could cut images from the second set and layer them on the original for dimension. A piece of Cherry Cobbler seam binding was used as embellishment.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once again we got to have a person drawn for us so as to case or make one of their works ours. I drew Marsha's card. I chose to use her mixed media project from the Sale a Bration Hop last year.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvNElvA_gImUQVF9EEWlXE2G9iv9pZbJtJha6YhmxOgdgxLWOBXvMFy8cc6_h2pSS_8Hcfqc1EVhkkp7k5op0GftYZFkvpBC5t_nNP2fDsZCYRvxuP9RwkqvrzW4PzSlmbs1CT9P3g3rDO/s1600/Flowered+Canvas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvNElvA_gImUQVF9EEWlXE2G9iv9pZbJtJha6YhmxOgdgxLWOBXvMFy8cc6_h2pSS_8Hcfqc1EVhkkp7k5op0GftYZFkvpBC5t_nNP2fDsZCYRvxuP9RwkqvrzW4PzSlmbs1CT9P3g3rDO/s1600/Flowered+Canvas.jpg" height="320" width="264" /></a></div>
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7547425438008103984" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
I decided that though this is a canvas, it could translate to a card so this is what I came up with,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4EY2XKrjRhf73FZorBbWfLQyi3majNGY7ZpUafJPqSi22vJxkaKvAbAHPTczFnabWuVq7UYIGbOP2_NGBwSefu16u_jKlK4N0pb4l9-EjZRhsizcNplb-LJGWJwBYn-ZD_Dt7f2l2kEr_/s1600/IMG_1745.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4EY2XKrjRhf73FZorBbWfLQyi3majNGY7ZpUafJPqSi22vJxkaKvAbAHPTczFnabWuVq7UYIGbOP2_NGBwSefu16u_jKlK4N0pb4l9-EjZRhsizcNplb-LJGWJwBYn-ZD_Dt7f2l2kEr_/s1600/IMG_1745.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card base is Pear Pizzazz and I used the Lattice EF on Vellum CS and tinted with Soft Sky ink. Under the vellum I stamped images from Petite Petals in Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point. The leaves are the birds wings on the Bird Builder punch and of course after stamping and coloring the flowers on Whisper White CS, I used the Petite Petals punch. The center of the flowers used the small image in the Boho Blossoms punch and scrunched them. The embellishments are the same as Marsha's, Antique Brad and 1/8" silver ribbon. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White CS using the Trust God stamp set which was then cut with Apothecary Accents framelit and edged in Soft Sky ink. I really didn't want to change too much of the project because I loved Marsha's canvas.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Welcome to our "The Best of...." blog hop. I have the pleasure of being the lead off for this hop, unless you started at the end and then you have come from the fabulous Heidi's blog. I love, love her creations and she does not disappoint this time either.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was super excited about our theme this time. "The Best of..." offers a time to reminisce and dig into our stash of those items we love so much and just can't bear to part with.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
One of our categories also allowed us to share an inspiration that we got from a creation of one of our fellow hoppers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The final category, if you will, was what we found to be the best of any of our current catalogs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So off we go with my first creation. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This project is my "blast from the past". The Asian inspired stamps have always been favorites of mine. So a few years ago when domino trays were popular I created this one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlwrlzbsptlx1b90X3ob1lUvaweShENU4Kxg6JguZl3n9BCBJhMpO9ZJlrbtymsuEqKxlQHyJPB3jb_OtMdQWGPhM-3KED-_g1gu4fWF8OupY-MxSPsIiiUAjhzurjmJXr8l5tpuh7krYK/s1600/FullSizeRender.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlwrlzbsptlx1b90X3ob1lUvaweShENU4Kxg6JguZl3n9BCBJhMpO9ZJlrbtymsuEqKxlQHyJPB3jb_OtMdQWGPhM-3KED-_g1gu4fWF8OupY-MxSPsIiiUAjhzurjmJXr8l5tpuh7krYK/s1600/FullSizeRender.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I purchased an unfinished wood tray and painted it with red and black paint and added some gold edging. Each domino was stamped with Black Stazon and edged in gold with the gold ZigPainty pen. I then glued them in, I don't remember what adhesive I used. I think almost every Asian inspired stamp that SU! had was used in the design of this tray. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next project is the "inspiration project". This project was inspired by a card made by Terri A. during our September hop. She said at the time she felt it was too early for a winter card with this set so she made it into this fall card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV7ID_PbLcRAfyFQ2u29ioti-uujVhZvIi-VkYspM0J-xRFtRRWytJeV1rxVn2eAwCen8_bEh8oeUUou6VIw0_vfBDUQGv_tjSjl290PPlnk6rXEE_61_8W3s8cr1KXPMmb8NaJGlTA_GD/s1600/terphoto50a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV7ID_PbLcRAfyFQ2u29ioti-uujVhZvIi-VkYspM0J-xRFtRRWytJeV1rxVn2eAwCen8_bEh8oeUUou6VIw0_vfBDUQGv_tjSjl290PPlnk6rXEE_61_8W3s8cr1KXPMmb8NaJGlTA_GD/s1600/terphoto50a.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Terri, I created a winter version for you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUTs_KaQwfZpRpCUOPqLSl5diQ1mYNOef0NsQf0yj2bvEDoC7cZ7UBuagzrscFzrGj3ThQQmwWdGVHcgDHA4tHcT2yWWhp_agVxtm0RxbEUp3mTwZt7gS3YNeZOabjNyYj_U-p1W262802/s1600/IMG_1704.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUTs_KaQwfZpRpCUOPqLSl5diQ1mYNOef0NsQf0yj2bvEDoC7cZ7UBuagzrscFzrGj3ThQQmwWdGVHcgDHA4tHcT2yWWhp_agVxtm0RxbEUp3mTwZt7gS3YNeZOabjNyYj_U-p1W262802/s1600/IMG_1704.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card base is Soft Sky and the layer is Marina Mist. I stamped several images of the trees onto Confetti White CS as well as the little snowman from the White Christmas stamp set. After stamping the "snowflakes" I added some Dazzling Details for a little sparkle. The embellishment is the All is Calm Snowflake from the Holiday catalog tied with the 1/8" silver ribbon. (try threading that through that tiny hole in the top). I added a Rhinestone Basic jewel for added sparkle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Finally, I chose 3 stamps from the AC, Hardwood, Daydream Medallion, and Petite Petals and their coordinating punch, dies and the Confetti Stars punch. I also used the Woodgrain EF and the Beautifully Baroque EF. Cherry Cobbler seam binding was added. The CS used was Confetti White, Wild Wasabi, and Real Red along with Wild Wasabi and Cherry Cobbler inks. The result was this -</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYhOMPpuTRDQaOH22cZ4Vzfw_rDRaxkaSWQTjUTSb6EFpKwcX3KowiGNTlCkkstinW0LqtM8x9DlWlQ2rNk_owDgQPI1AXK1S0RysXHDJ3XrYr4TOHBNu8ulGdZ7FOG321PhXfnQFvzO5A/s1600/IMG_1707.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYhOMPpuTRDQaOH22cZ4Vzfw_rDRaxkaSWQTjUTSb6EFpKwcX3KowiGNTlCkkstinW0LqtM8x9DlWlQ2rNk_owDgQPI1AXK1S0RysXHDJ3XrYr4TOHBNu8ulGdZ7FOG321PhXfnQFvzO5A/s1600/IMG_1707.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This brings me to the end of my projects. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.</div>

<br />
<br />
I think I am finished traveling until after the New Year so that means I could join this hop. I have missed being part of the last few, but thoroughly enjoyed the creations of those who participated. You arrived at my blog from Deborah's blog. I love seeing her projects every month and feel privileged to be sandwiched between two very talented Canadian neighbors,<br />
<br />
I love the Christmas Holidays with the caroling, decorations, and the excitement of children, especially my grandson. I have some fun things planned for him to help him count down the days. However, in preparation for this hop I was overwhelmed with the project ideas, but finally settled on the three I have posted.<br />
<br />
My first project is a card that will be part of a Shoe Box Swap this weekend. I fell in love with the Christmas Bauble and the Filigree Frame EF as soon as I saw them and knew they would go together. This is what I came up with.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSM08hau_uQS3JikyNFzw67RpQ_XhcR8vpnTrDF6a0P_xVIvdK2m52jc5AKfkPPZBzFy_b0FYThYKA3DFzosQk2JcFXCDxIJUNkvbTS7t5QfZxvEjBOzoWwyPstWjFG9_maQag9VAtZ1En/s1600/photo-89.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSM08hau_uQS3JikyNFzw67RpQ_XhcR8vpnTrDF6a0P_xVIvdK2m52jc5AKfkPPZBzFy_b0FYThYKA3DFzosQk2JcFXCDxIJUNkvbTS7t5QfZxvEjBOzoWwyPstWjFG9_maQag9VAtZ1En/s1600/photo-89.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used Naturals Ivory CS and Watercolor paper. After stamping 2 images of the Christmas Bauble Stamp on the watercolor paper and watercoloring them, I fussy cut different parts of one of the images and using dimensionals made it 3D. The front of the card was run through the Filigree Frame EF. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next card was a challenge to make it different than most I have seen on Pinterest and SC. this is my rendition of The Newborn King.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrKdQ36WX4MPJgqaIQXvv3kk_dfT_3C8z4PRy4mliUWrFJwK9D-xw5Mc4d9aVOLZFcJEO6RYfXNJOPo4mkDZTJiBuLzikPjqdZm7w7m2iGGJjqxOD4AZMSX0q8YYFghI-UY3yb_7z4ol6S/s1600/photo-90.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrKdQ36WX4MPJgqaIQXvv3kk_dfT_3C8z4PRy4mliUWrFJwK9D-xw5Mc4d9aVOLZFcJEO6RYfXNJOPo4mkDZTJiBuLzikPjqdZm7w7m2iGGJjqxOD4AZMSX0q8YYFghI-UY3yb_7z4ol6S/s1600/photo-90.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The first thing I did was to take a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and using Night of Navy mixed with alcohol in a Stampin' Spritzer I colored the paper. It took a few times of spraying it to get the color saturation I wanted. Next time I will just add more ink to the alcohol. It takes a while to dry and I eventually got out the hair dryer to finish drying it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On watercolor paper I stamped and embossed with Black EP both the image and the sentiment. I watercolored the nativity image and added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the star after cutting it with the Labels Collection Framelit. The next size of framelit cut the now Navy colored Glimmer paper, while the small one cut out the sentiment. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card is 5 1/2 square from Kraft CS. The layer is Cherry Cobbler run through the Decorative Dots EF and the edges are distressed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For a final touch, I doubled a length of Linen Thread for the bow at the top.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My next project was a challenge I took up after seeing the star ornaments made with the Stars framelit. I knew there had to be a way to make a star box that had a lid and bottom. Thanks to Pinterest and 2 ladies, Judy May and Crafty Maria's Stamping World, I was able to come up with a box. I still want to do some tweaking, but will do that later. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2E4gySydgFrWBobI64wKCnpR5DoiYpl4rT-C7X7U6b3hemtjitykHe10NINPIiCDMEAWaYWhbXhVXVvu-2EZwqEUwewTK1noNskiKBWjHjpYtf8TQiNbNbc8bkLGyKCjXR5LwaXaNk8XS/s1600/photo-91.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2E4gySydgFrWBobI64wKCnpR5DoiYpl4rT-C7X7U6b3hemtjitykHe10NINPIiCDMEAWaYWhbXhVXVvu-2EZwqEUwewTK1noNskiKBWjHjpYtf8TQiNbNbc8bkLGyKCjXR5LwaXaNk8XS/s1600/photo-91.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started with Kraft CS. As suggested by the tutorials I used, I doubled the tops and the bottoms for more strength. Gold Glimmer paper made the first layer on the top of the box and the little hanging star. The next star was cut from Cherry Cobbler CS and run through the Lucky Stars EF, distressed, and all edges were inked with Cherry Cobbler ink. Though it doesn't show very well I did the sides with Cherry Cobbler seam binding and crochet trim (the old retired one...oops). The roses were made using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle punch and inked the edges with Cherry Cobbler. Though they don't show I dropped a pearl in the center of each rose. The dangling star was attached with Linen thread.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now you are off to the very talented Heidi Weaver's blog. Heidi has been our fearless leader on these hops and I want to thank her for such an awesome job setting these up every month.</div>

<br />
This year after listening to suggestions from customers and friends I have decided to do Christmas card making a little different this year. Instead of a Stamp a Stack, I have decided to do a Shoe Box Swap. It will be held on October 25th, Saturday and will be from 10 AM - 4 PM.<br />
<br />
For those not familiar with a Shoe Box Swap it is an event where all contribute to the design and preparation of the cards to be made. Each person participating will design a card or ornament or box or bag or tags, themed for the holidays Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, etc. Then you will cut and prepare a kit for your project for each person participating. You will also bring your stamp set(s) for this project to be used at the event. It is preferable that you use current stamps and supplies from the Annual Catalog or the Holiday Catalog.<br />
You'll will need to order your supplies for your project in time to prepare your kits. You can order at my website www.dancinstamps.stampinup.net. Be sure to select that you want the order to come to your address.<br />
<br />
It is very, very important that RSVPs are made before or on October 14th so that all will know how many kits to prep.<br />
<br />
Since this event is longer than a normal class I am also asking that everyone bring something to share for a potluck lunch. I will have crockpot of soup, apple crisp, coffee, tea,water and paper goods and utensils here.<br />
<br />
This is an event where each of us can share our creativity, have fun, eat and play.<br />
Don't forget to RSVP by October 14th.<br />

After practicing for several days and watching numerous videos, "I think she's got it". This image uses the Blended Bloom, Secret Garden and Peaceful Petals. The Blendabilities new from Stampin' Up! are the Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight sets. I took advantage of the bleed through on the back and dry embossed from the backside to make the petals pop up. I fussy cut the whole image and mounted it on the card with dimensionals. Love using those new color tools.</div>
