I can't believe that Spring will soon be here. What a relief, the cold especially this last week,  has been brutal.  Three of the cards I used in my class this last weekend, but "glammed" up a little from the original are what I am showing today. To my ladies who attended the class, what do you think?

This first card was supposed to be the "glammed" version of the card following it, but you know how things sometimes seem to go in an entirely different direction? Well this one did. It is actually a 6x6 card that can be used as a scrapbook double page layout or parts of progressive pages. It was made using Cherry Cobbler CS, World Spectacular DSP, linen thread, large Pearl Basic jewels, Apothecary Accents Framelit, Large Scallop Edgelit and lots of dimensionals. Of course the silly picture is my grandson Hunter who decided to say something as the picture was taken. This will be used for his 4th Birthday next October.

Combo Birthday Card and 6x6 Scrapbook pages

Next we have a  card that inspired, if you will, the above. See what I mean about different direction? Well, it's still a carnival, right? This card uses Pool Party, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, and Very Vanilla CS, more of the World Spectacular DSP, 7/16"Natural Trim Ribbon from the new Occasions catalog, Pool Party seam binding, Ticket Duo Builder punch, Perfect Polka Dot EF, Medallion stamp (retired) and the SAB stamp set Feeling Sentimental.

Antique Ferris Wheel

Here is a birthday card made using the Secret Garden Bundle from the Occasions catalog. All the flowers were stamped and embossed using WW CS and then watercolored as were the little bees from the Nature Walk stamp set. The sentiment is from the Sassy Salutations set. I used the Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations CS with the Honeycomb EF layered on Basic Gray CS.

Spring Birthday

Then a St. Valentine's Day card. I love Valentines as to me they are the perfect opportunity to do vintage. Though not true vintage because it isn't distressed, it is like the old time Valentines that I remember. For this card I used Pink Pirouette CS, More Amore DSP, Hearts a Flutter Bundle and elements from the Artisan Embellishment Kit. The hat pin came from the Clearance Rack and the pearl from the now retired Pretties Kit.

Vintage Valentine

I hope you enjoyed these creations.

  1. Christine - These are sooooo gorgeous! I saw the first and say, "Oh, how pretty." And then the second - lovely (and makes me feel warm when it's 20 degrees outside!!!). But the third....well, it's the most vintage, so, of course, it's my favorite. It's absolutely a perfect Valentine.

  2. All three cards are wonderful. Very clever using the scrapbook layout for the birthday card. The watercoloring on the flowers has to be my favorite. Wonderful job Christine.

  3. TFS all these gorgeous projects! The circus page (and GS) are so cute, and what a great idea to make a card to use in a scrapbook.

  5. Wow, only begins to cover it Christine. Your creative eye made each project a joy and an inspiration. Thanks for sharing. As for picking a favorite...you have to be kidding though I have to agree with Buffy...the vintage Valentine is perfect and the warm colors and happy feel of the Secret Garden card is warming my winter cooled spirit wonderfully. Hugs, love and blessings from a sister Llama and thanks for hopping.

  7. These are all great cards, Christine, but I have to admit I love the little bees on the Secret Garden card and all that stamping, embossing and watercoloring is super gorgeous!
